Speaking of preparations: Are you ready for the upcoming ski season? Not yet? Then now is the time to get prepared. And because we always like to give you the gift of enjoyment even before your arrival at our 4-star resort, here are some of our best tips to get perfectly prepared for your skiing adventure.
#1: Equipment
Have your skis or snowboard professionally serviced: Wax the base, sharpen the edges, check the bindings. Also, give your ski clothing a thorough look-over: Is everything in good working condition? Make an extra good inspection of thermal underwear, ski socks, ski gloves, and helmet. If you plan to take a ski tour off-piste, don’t forget your avalanche safety equipment, including avalanche transceiver, snow probe, and snow shovel.
#2: Physical fitness
Skiing and snowboarding are sports that work the body on many different levels. Strength in the legs and core muscles is just as important as good stamina, balance, coordination, and flexibility. Targeted ski gymnastics exercises such as squats and lunges, practising on the balance board, yoga, stretching activities, and cardiovascular training are the best way to prepare yourself physically for the upcoming ski season.
#3: Technique
Good technique not only increases the enjoyment of skiing and snowboarding, but also prevents the likelihood accidents and injuries. Do dry runs such as practising the correct ski stance or brush up on your technique at courses and workshops.
